In life where we devote more time that things get better, for example, if we devote more time to cooking, our cooking skills will get better. That is the reason, we at  Gayatri Public School devotes more time for all round growth of our students.

 

Gayatri Public School  operates   255 days a year, and is open for  seven hours per day.We all get 24 hours a day. How we utilize these 24 hours,  makes us successful or not so successful. Proper  utilization of the time is very important. We all need to learn the importance of this limited resource “TIME”. A minute       or an hour wasted will never come back. That is gone forever. That is the reason, people say, Time is Money.

Each class period is 55 minutes.

• 25% of the time is devoted towards the revision of the previous lecture or subject matter to make sure the students have a complete grasp or 100%comprehension of the subject matter.

• 50% of the time of the period is utilized for new material and the last 25% is devoted to revising the new material by asking questions.

• We also utilize the concept of student helping the student. For each subject small teams of three or four students are created so that students can help each other.The very best way to learn or understand anything is to teach.

• All new subject matter of the week is again revised on saturday, utilizing video lessons etc.

• More emphasis is given to math, Science and English.

Saturday is the most important day at Gayatri Public School. On Saturday students do not bring their books to school. It is a bagless day.

• one third of the day is devoted to games at Jaguar Den ( a large playground for Gayatri Public School students) Healthy Body – Sharp Mind

• One third of the day is devoted toward revision of all the new subject matter (material) taught during the week.

• One third of the day is devoted towards the STEM (Science – Technology – Engineering – Mathematics) activities and for project based learning. Learning by doing.

STEM program is established by Engineering students of Villanova University USA. Every year a team of five to seven engineering students of Villanova university visit and stay at Gayatri Public School for a week or ten days to assist GPS teachers and students to enhance the STEM activity program.

• Gayatri Public School has well equipped Science (Physics – Chemistry – Biology) Labs. There are around 160 laptops sy GPS, in the computer lab and /or in classrooms for video lessons. Students and teachers can access video lessons through a local area network (Rachel unit).

• Teachers and senior students can take their laptops home  to improve themselves. GPS Library, sports and music room is also well equipped to help students.

GPS has a student club, (President, Vice President, Secretary and treasurer)  that operates HONESTY Shop and assists the GPS management in organizing functions.

 

Each class has a student class President and class Monitor to help to maintain discipline and help students in their studies. (student helping the student)

 

Each bus has a student captain to maintain discipline and help to improve in English communication.
